Dr. Leslie Vidal is an orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist focused on shoulder, hip, and knee arthroscopic surgery. She moved from her private practice of nearly two decades in the Denver metropolitan area to the Vail Valley to become the first female orthopedic surgeon to practice at The Steadman Clinic. A Colorado native, Dr. Vidal completed her undergraduate studies at Brown University in Providence, R.I., and then graduated from the Boston University School of Medicine. She served an internship at New York Presbyterian Hospital, orthopedic surgery residency at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City and completed her fellowship in sports medicine and shoulder surgery at University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Vidal is happy to treat patients from Vail, Eagle and Summit County, and those in the surrounding Denver area.

Dr. Vidal offers both arthroscopic and open surgery alternatives for shoulder and knee pathologies as well as arthroscopic surgeries for hip pathologies.

Dr. Vidal’s research interests include: Studying the effects of biologics such as platelet rich plasma and bone marrow aspirate concentrate (stem cell therapy) on the outcomes of ACL reconstruction surgery, rotator cuff surgery, arthroscopic hip microfracture, and knee arthritis. She is involved in numerous other studies focused on improving techniques and evaluating outcomes for variety of shoulder, hip and knee procedures.
